The Advanced ICT Lab, recently added to the mix at 321 McDermot, is a digital makerspace that provides the tools for Manitoba developers to develop their tech for commercialization. Powered by Bit Space Development, it is also a place of community and mentorship.
Daniel Blair, founder and CEO of Bit Space Development, is lending his expertise and mentorship to lab users, who are able to access the latest Unity software, HTC Vive, Microsoft HoloLens and other devices. The lab also allows for an exchange of ideas between community members.
Users can develop, test and build VR experiences at workstations equipped with Unity software and HTC Vive, Microsoft HoloLens and other devices. Possibilities include 360-degree marketing videos and photos, drone photography and videography, room-scale VR, Bitcoin-related applications, video game development and support for legacy VR applications. Podcast studio space and equipment round out the lab’s offerings.
The goal of the Advanced ICT lab is to lower the cost of innovation and research. If we can reduce the risk associated with R&D for entrepreneurs then there is a good chance that we will see ideas actually come to life as opposed to seeing them fizzle out.
Virtual Reality (VR) is a hot new technology that is just starting to become widely available. At Bit Space we have been working with VR since before it was commercially viable which has given us a unique perspective on the technology. At North Forge through the ICT lab you are able to get access to a wide range of VR options which could be costly to an organization to get started with.
More to come.
Even more costly than VR is AR. Augmented Reality is a tricky technology to pin down. We have been working with AR in several capacities at BSD. The 2 main offerings include:
We offer a selection of Bit Coin related technology including multiple miners for use on your own blockchain applications or custom crypto currencies.
One of the most popular technologies available. We work with organizations to point them in the right direction in regards to regulations surrounding drones in Canada.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”3963″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
