In recent years, Virtual Reality has emerged as an innovative technology that not only revolutionized gaming industry but also became a powerful conduit for safety training and education.
Since 2015, BSD has been developing VR training apps for various industries, including but not limited to construction, electrics, homebuilding, roadbuilding, with a great number of projects in collaboration with Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC) and its regional partners, e.g Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM), International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 2085, Manitoba Home Builders’ Association (MHBA).
BSD had a strong expertise in developing VR-based training programs in two main platforms:
VR Safety is an interactive platform for developing training and education-based experiences that handle item system, learning object tracking, and narration engine. It can be deployed to all major VR manufacturers:
- – Windows Mixed Reality
- – SteamVR – HTC Vive
- – Oculus Rift
- – Handles both 6DOF controllers as well as custom tracked objects using Leap Motion and HTC Vive Trackers (Vive only)
We also develop a framework for delivering 360 degree spherical content that allows embedded hotspots. Safety 360 can be deployed to all VR options:
- – Computer based VR solutions like Windows XR, Vive, and Oculus
- – All-In-One solutions like Oculus Go, Pico Goblin
- – Mobile based VR solutions like Google Cardboard
- – Can be deployed to PC and tablet devices for accessibility
